The series "Spaces" explores spatial perception by sculpting imaginary three-dimensional spaces from the flatness of two-dimensional grids.

Each piece in "Spaces" begins as a conventional grid image, a simple two-dimensional entity. During the image creating process these grids undergo a metamorphosis. They are twisted, turned, and stretched, bending the very fabric of their existence. The result is a series of spaces that defy the conventions of geometry and perspective. They invite into a world of depth, spatiality, and velocity. 

The series challenges the viewer's understanding of space and dimension. What appears to be depth is merely an illusion, a manipulation of lines and shapes. Yet, these illusions are so convincing, so palpable, that they seem to extend beyond the screen, creating a sense of speed and movement.
